In my last post we got to see this sweet little guy enter the world and meet a loving family who eagerly awaited his arrival. Instead of a posed newborn shoot, his parents wanted a lifestyle family photographer to document their new family dynamic. When I arrived we started with some lifestyle newborn photos and images of the family in the beautiful guest bedroom. I was taken with the blue wallpaper and thought it made a great background. The day was very chilly and overcast so the lighting was very cool as well early on. By the time we were done upstairs, the sky was beginning to clear and we had a sun-bathed afternoon downstairs making scones in the kitchen. While they baked the family enjoyed a book, some tickle time, and eventually a bounce on the trampoline. I love the simplicity of this session and the way I got to immortalize what they were like as a family when their newest member was just days old. I hope I can continue to watch them grow.
I really love this picture of the family fridge. Sweet baby H is a rainbow baby so it’s appropriate that his sonograms hang next to a Sunday school artwork of the rainbow and a reminder that “God keeps his promises”.
How stinkin’ cute are these kiddos? And the following photo took me a second to really appreciate when editing. I was focused on one child and didn’t even realize the other was licking the counter top.
